Janaína Moraes is a dance & researcher artist.
Founder of the art gathering Abrindo a Sala, she works with improvisation in contemporary dance, with an interest in relational poetics and choreographic invitations.
PhD student at the Dance Studies programme at the University of Auckland. Master in Performing Arts at UnB (2018); postgraduate in Contemporary Dance Studies at UFBA (2017) and Degree in Dance from the Federal Institute of Brasília (2010-2014).
She was a resident artist in: Arenaza, Buenos Aires / Argentina at the art residency COMUNITARIA; Olhos D'água / GO at the art residency "Processes in Residence" with Christus Nóbrega (2018); Brasília / DF at the Ouvidoria residence with Luciana Paz and the Solos Performáticos residence with Semolina Tomik (ES / CR) (2018); Guanajuato / Mexico at the art residency "Afecto Societal" (2018); Brasília / DF at the art residency with Herman Diephuis (FR) (2016); and in Ipatinga / MG at the art residency "Corpografia" (2013).
She lived in Australia - 2014 to 2016, where developed works that investigate what calls Open Process in Composition, some of which are: Waiting Room (Fringe World Festival / Perth Center for Photography), Encounters (Short Cuts / STRUT Dance) and A Picnic (The Kiss Club / CIA Studios). In Perth / WA he worked at the National Center for Choreographic Development STRUT Dance and participated in the Proximity Festival team.
